Faith and Globalization

About Miroslav

Miroslav Volf is founder and director of the Yale Center for Faith and Culture.  He is currently co-teaching a course with former British Prime Minister Tony Blair at Yale University entitled "Faith and Globalization." Religious faiths and globalization are among the most powerful forces shaping the world today. The future of the world will depend greatly on how these two forces, partly colliding and partly reinforcing one another, relate to each other.  Conflicts between faiths as a result of globalization are pushing people of different faiths more tightly together and rapidly changing their worlds.  We need to give globalization processes a more “humane face,” to infuse them with a greater sense of justice and solidarity and direct them more toward the global common good. What are the resources of the Christian faith to address both of these great issues at the intersection of faith and globalization?

Open Forum

Open Forum features lectures, performances, and onstage conversations with writers, artists, musicians, and leading thinkers.  Featured guests are asked to articulate the important ideas and relevant viewpoints that inform their work and creative process.  Open Forums are offered in hope that all who attend will be enriched and challenged by the distinctive perspective that faith can add to our lives.

Open Forum is a ministry of City Church of San Francisco. Hosted by Scot Sherman.
